7e8d40_e12eeafe30be43f6930aa7c46d931a01.

We love to get involved with our community and we consider all sponsorship requests.

To make this work best for you and for us, and so that we can continue to provide funds to many of these community events or teams, we offer the below structure.

Refer yourself, your team, or your friends to us for a no pressure Life, Health

and Disability’ insurance review and with any completed application, we will sponsor 10% of the annual premium to your team or club.

In the past, this has provided $1000’s to teams and groups.

If you have a different idea talk to our team!

HOmes of hope

Insurance Advisernet and Financial Independence are thrilled to be able to support Homes of Hope and the amazing work they do for our community.

They are passionate about delivering the very best foster care services for children from hard places and have suffered abuse and/or neglect. They prevent siblings from being separated and they ensure stability of their care for as long as it is needed. Homes of Hope is a charitable organization.

Scouts fundraiser

This group has invited William Pike to speak on June the 6th at the Mount Maunganui Intermediate. William is a sought-after speaker and a role model to youth nationally and internationally. Losing a leg after being trapped in a volcanic eruption on Mt Ruapehu has not changed William’s outlook on life, nor has it stopped him from doing the things that he loves.

He is the director of the popular nationwide youth development programme called the William Pike Challenge Award (WPCA). The programme aims to grow resilient, confident and connected Kiwi kids by encouraging them to embrace new challenges, enjoy the great outdoors, engage with the community and interact with positive role models. Values shared by the Scouting movement. In a fast-paced world driven by technology and change, William believes developing our future generations of New Zealanders is critical.

Panthers running club

Ben Ruthe heads up the Panthers running group and we sponsored some kit so these guys would look good while they are out there.

Ben weathered the cold and smashed the Taupo Half Marathon in August 2017. Coming in first place with a time of 1:10:55, his best time in 8 years.

Ben said "Good to be training again after several years out concentrating on the business and raising my 2 young kids with Jess. I'll be competing next at the Inaugural Tauranga International Marathon in October."

Ben came first in the 2018 Tauranga city to surf marathon, with a time of 1:20:13.

We were thrilled to sponsor the Tauranga North Tai Mitchell squad for their rugby tournament. We went to see them at training to hand out their training gear and were thanked with an awesome Haka.

We went along to the Tauranga North Tai Mitchell Squad prize giving and joined the celebrations. They came 5th overall and were also awarded the 'Best Sportsmanship' award, which is an awesome achievement. We were happy to get involved with such a great bunch of kids.

Cover your breasts

The "Cover Your Breasts" event saw us raise $8,363.61 for the Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga Trust. A local charity that helps patients with Breast cancer in so many ways it is inspiring.

We enjoyed a night of Laughter with Will from the Hits, helpful and educational talks from some fantastic women in health practitioners and of course food to remember at Elizabeth cafe.

Find out more about this local charity.

Cambodia

charitable trust

We were happy to be able to present a cheque to Denise Arnold for the Cambodia Charitable Trust last night. Financial Independence has sponsored 6 girls through their schooling in Cambodia for many years and 3 of those girls are ready to head off for tertiary study, which we are super proud of. The money to help them with this next step was a little higher, so the team had a fundraiser and raised enough to see them through the next year. Thanks to those that joined us for that night, every small amount adds up to a huge amount for these girls. We wish them well and invite you to have a look at the fantastic charity on the following link. What Denise does over there is inspiring.
