Q1: From the 30th of November 2018 can Sovereign clients earn Airpoints Dollars™ on existing Sovereign policies?
A1: Yes, existing Sovereign clients can earn Airpoints Dollars if they hold an eligible insurance policy with Eligible Products and Benefits, starting from their first premium payment after 30th of November 2018.
A "New Client” is any client who has a policy for an Eligible Product and Benefit issued on or after the 30th of November 2018. If you submit an application prior to the 30th of November 2018 in respect of an Eligible Product and Benefit (but a policy has not been issued) you can supply us with the client’s Airpoints™ number before the policy is issued and the client will be eligible to earn Airpoints Dollars.


Q2: What are the eligible products?
A2: The “Eligible Products and Benefits” are:
a) TotalCare and TotalCareMax Personal and Business (policies issued from 1 February 2001 with Guaranteed Enhancement Benefit):

Q3: How many Airpoints Dollars will a client earn?
A3: Clients will earn 1 Airpoints Dollar per $100 of premium paid on Eligible Products and Benefits. The premium includes any GST and policy fee.


Q4: What does a client need to register?
A4:
 Policy number;
 Airpoints number;
 First and Last name as held by Air New Zealand;
 Email; and
 Telephone number.


Q5: How do clients give Sovereign their Airpoints number?
A5: There are 5 ways clients can give us their Airpoints number:
1. As part of the application process by completing the Airpoints form or on a standalone form (available on Made-to-Connect)
2. Registering or logging onto MySovereign (please see below*)
3. Contacting Sovereign’s Contact Centre on 0800 500 108
4. An email from client – the email address must be the same address as held on file.
5. LiveChat
*My Sovereign is a website portal that clients can access via the main Sovereign webpage. They can view their policy information, contact details, FAQs and also update their contact details, add a direct debit, update their smoking status, notify us of a compliment or a complaint and ask a question. This gives the customer the ability to contact Sovereign 24/7.


Q6: Can an Adviser give Sovereign a client’s Airpoints number?
A6: There are 2 ways an Adviser can give a client’s Airpoints number:
1. As part of the application process by completing the Airpoints form or on a standalone form, (available on Made-to-Connect) and send it to Sovereign (enquire@sovereign.co.nz), or email art@sovereign.co.nz for this to be processed by the Existing Business team. Alternatively, they can call the Adviser Relationship Team on 0800 768 287.
2. An email received from their client which the adviser then can forward onto ART, (however Sovereign needs to hold the client’s email address already on file.


Q7: Is there an Airpoints promotion for new and existing clients at launch?
A7: Yes, if your clients buy an Eligible Product and Benefit between the 30th November 2018 and the 28th February 2019 (the “Promotion Period”), they will be eligible to earn 3X Airpoints Dollars per $100 of premiums paid for three months from their first premium payment.
New Clients who have applied and signed the policy application during the Promotion Period, in relation to an Eligible Product and Benefit, will earn 3 Airpoints Dollars per $100 of premium paid for three months starting from their first premium payment. The policy must be issued before 31st March 2019 to be eligible for the 3X Airpoints Dollars promotion.
Existing Clients who have a policy with Eligible Products and Benefits will, for a period of three months starting from their first premium payment following the date Airpoints details are added to the policy, earn 3 Airpoints Dollars per $100 of premium paid. The Airpoints details must be added to the policy prior to 31st of March 2019 to be eligible for the 3X Airpoints Dollars promotion.


Q8: My client holds a legacy policy. Are they able to earn Airpoints on their premiums?
A8: The Eligible Products and Benefits include policies issued from 1 February 2001 with Guaranteed Enhancement Benefit (please see the list in A2 above).


Q9: Can my client upgrade their legacy policy to a new one to access Airpoints?
A9: Yes they can but legacy replacement rules apply. To access a new policy, the client may be subject to underwriting and you will need to give replacement business advice as there may be benefit differences which can both advantage and disadvantage the client.


Q10: Can more than one person receive Airpoints Dollars on the same policy?
A10: No, there is only one Airpoints number allowed per policy.


Q11: Who gets the Airpoints Dollars?
A11: It is the policy owner’s responsibility to nominate which Airpoints account earns the Airpoints Dollars. If there are multiple policy owners, they must agree on which one of them will receive the Airpoints Dollars.


Q12: What happens if multiple policy owners cannot agree on who gets the Airpoints?
A12: They will discuss this amongst themselves and agree on who gets the Airpoints Dollars. To confirm, they will need to fill out and sign a ‘Multiple Policy Owner’ form on Made-to-Connect, and send it to Sovereign (enquire@ sovereign.co.nz). We can only accept one Airpoints number per application/policy.


Q13: My client pays premiums annually (i.e. once a year). Will they be able to participate in the 3X Airpoints promotion which runs between the 30th of November 2018 and the 28th of February 2019?
A13: If their premium payment date falls within the Promotion Period, then they will be eligible to earn 3X Airpoints on their full premium payment. If the client’s premium payment falls outside the Promotion Period, then they will not be able to participate in the 3X Airpoints Promotion but will still be eligible to receive 1 Airpoints Dollar per $100 of premium paid for payments made after the 30th of November 2018.


Q14: What Airpoints details are collected from the client?
A14: Sovereign will collect the first name and last name as held by Air New Zealand, and the Airpoints number.

Q15: What client information will be shared with Air New Zealand as a part of the Airpoints campaign?
A15: For the purpose of fulfilling a client’s Airpoints Dollars earned with Air New Zealand, Sovereign will share some client information such as first name, last name and Airpoints number with Air New Zealand. Any sensitive information relating to the Sovereign application for cover will not be shared.

Q16: What do I do if the client hasn’t got Airpoints details but wants to earn Airpoints Dollars?
A16: The client can join Airpoints for free with Air New Zealand by visiting:
