Claiming for flood damage
For anyone suffering any flooding or storm damage please contact your personal broker directly by phone or email or contact us on 07 578 4414. The sooner you contact us the sooner we can lodge your claim with the insurer and help things progress for you.
Some quick things to consider:
Please prioritise your safety
If water has entered your property, do not turn on your electricity until it has been inspected by an electrician or you are certain it is safe to do so
Please keep damaged items that do not pose a health and safety risk because your insurer may wish to inspect them when working through a claim.
If it is not practical or safe to keep any items please take photos of damaged items (especially those which show they are not repairable)
Any essential repairs that are required to protect the property from further damage should be prioritised however if you could ensure you have photos of the damage prior to repair that will greatly assist with the claim.
Non-essential repairs to damaged property should not be started until we have your insurance company’s approval which we will push for as soon as possible.
